Like every great journey, starting a TimeBank begins with a single-step.
With so many decisions on how to advocate the best direction in your TimeBank, from gathering members to join, keeping members active, and to top it all off they may be the ones to raise funds to set up and sustain their TimeBank. We know this can be challenging to navigate, which is why we help our TimeBanks.
TimeBanks.Org is offering to set your TimeBank in motion with software options, materials, and training you need to meet the vision for your community. Below is the onboarding we offer.
If you're unsure about whether this is for you or your community, our 'Gathering With A Purpose' guide will help you to get the feel and flow for TimeBanking.
Let's check to see if you are ready to start a TimeBank
In terms of deciding whether to start a TimeBank using TimeBanking software, or not, the following checklist will help you decide whether you are ready. Try answering the following questions with a 'yes', 'maybe' or 'no':
- Do you have a vision of what type of TimeBank will fill your community needs?
- Do you have the blessing of your community to start a new TimeBank?
- Will your TimeBank have more than three members?
- Is your community on board with the values of TimeBanking?
- Would your community benefit from some training?
- Do you have a budget to sustain your TimeBank?
- If you choose a TimeBanking software, like Community Weaver, have you discussed how to budget the cost?
- Do you have the resources to manage your TimeBank?
If you've answered 'yes' to a lot of these questions, it's time to gather your ideas and your co-conspirators and build your TimeBank.
